78 years old prestigious club Hazra Udayan Sangha (Regn. No.:
1/2L/23068) is going to organize the much coveted 13th South Kolkata Road Marathon on 7th January 2024.
It’s
an approximately 10 KM long affair and its past versions were duly celebrated through the huge number of
participants and the presence of eminent sports personalities like Gurbax Singh, Subrata Bhattacharya,
Sambaran Banerjee, Bidesh Bose, Jose Ramirez Barreto and many more.
This year a total of 1150 online registrations have been made, and we are expecting
800+ Runner to
participate in the activity. Renowned footballer Bikash Panji, Actor
Tathagata Mukherjee, Soumya Mukherjee, Actress Angana Roy, MLA
Debasis Kumar, and Councillor Paromita Chatterjee will present during the
activity.
78 years old Hazra Udayan Sangha has a very prestigious and glorious history of having engaged in several social activities apart from organising Durga Puja in each and every year with a huge popularity in South Kolkata and winning almost all the prominent awards. We have contributed aids in almost all the natural calamities happened in Bengal, also played a major role in the local community during Covid times. We regularly organise medical health check up camps and other community building programmes. We also organise South Kolkata Road Marathon, which is also a pioneering act in this part of the city. Several eminent citizens were residents of our locality and played significant roles for Hazra Udayan Sangha e.g. eminent film director Late Hrishikesh Mukherjee, film maker Late Sukhen Das, music director Late Ajoy Das, actors Late Pradip Kumar Batabyal & Late Dilip Roy along with physician and social worker Late Dr. Purnendu Jha. Currently, eminent architect Mr. Dilip Kumar Dhar is the Hon'ble President and eminent educationist & film producer Mr. Firdausul Hasan is the Hon'ble Vice-President of Hazra Udayan Sangha.
